Featured Worship Leader: Rev. Phoenix Bell-Shelton Biggs

Worship Title: "Sacred Wholeness: Reimagining Mental Health as Liberation."
Worship Description: In a world that often demands resilience without rest, how do we honor the sacredness of our minds, bodies, and spirits? Rooted in radical love, care, and sanctuary, this worship explores mental health as a justice issue, a spiritual practice, and a path to liberation. Drawing from Unitarian Universalist values, progressive Christian theology, and the wisdom of ancestors, we will reimagine healing not as an individual burden but as a communal act of love. Together, we will affirm that wholeness is not about perfection but about embracing our full, messy, miraculous selves—because before there was any harm, there was a miracle.
Rev. Phoenix Bell-Shelton Biggs (they/them) is a Unitarian Universalist minister, theologian, and public witness committed to radical love, care, and sanctuary. As a queer, BIPOC, and nonbinary faith leader, their ministry is deeply rooted in liberation, justice, and healing, creating spaces where all people can thrive in their wholeness.
Rev. Phoenix served as an intern minister at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fredericksburg, VA, where they actively engaged in ministerial duties and community care, contributing to the spiritual growth and well-being of the congregation. They have served on the Board of Directors for the UU Mental Health Network, the Board of the UU Young Adult Revival Network (UUYarn), and as a Young Adult worship leader and Chaplain with UUYARN.

Currently, Rev. Phoenix is completing thier residency in Spiritual Health at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Rev. Phoenix believes that mental health is a sacred and collective journey, one that requires both personal and communal commitment to healing. Their ministry centers on disrupting systems of oppression and building spaces of radical belonging—where before there was harm, there was a miracle.
