Unitarian Universalist Mental Health Network Board Position Job Description
The Unitarian Universalist Mental Health Network (UUMHN) has openings on our Board.
We are seeking candidates who would like to help make a difference on mental health issues in UU congregations.
As a member of the Board, you would:

Attend monthly Board meetings using Zoom

Contribute to setting the future direction of the organization

Help to lead an organizational effort in one of our focus areas: Education, Worship, Social Justice, Support Groups

Share fiduciary responsibility for the organization, making sure we are spending our funds wisely
One of the Board positions we are looking for is a Board secretary. The secretary would:

Take notes at the Board meetings

Handle some correspondence, and other secretarial matters for the Board

Contribute to setting the future direction of the organization

Participate in an organizational effort in one of our focus areas: Education, Worship, Social Justice, Support Groups

Share fiduciary responsibility for the organization, making sure we are spending our funds wisely

The positions would require about 3-4 hours per month. The commitment is to be on the Board for 2 years.
People with mental health challenges, people with disabilities, people of color, indigenous people, Hispanic/Latinx, and LGBTQ candidates are especially encouraged to apply. The UUMHN Bylaws require a majority of the Board members have lived experience with mental health challenges, but not every Board member needs to so identify.
The election for Board members will happen the first Sunday in November.
